The belief that fossil fuels would sustain us indefinitely and that they even might have been renewable was commonly held but now its changing.
Instead, our focus as an energy demanding people has shifted to more natural forms such as solar, wind, and even waste.
Now that Oil seems to be nearly depleted, it has lost its luster. In the future, perpetual enrgy sources will definitely be discovered.

Wizard of Oz
1. We know what we don't know by realizing the spaces or gaps in our intelligence when faced with a new situation.
When we realize that we do not know everything then we know what we do not know.
2. Once what we do not know is discovered then we can learn that.
3. If what we accomplish is lower in value than a particular act that we perform then the omission becomes more significant than the act.
4. We know how good our lenses are through "hindsight".

Identifying a Problem:
In our world we have in North America, an obesity epidemic. Meaning that people here are consuming fatal amounts of food. Yet, just a few time zones away on the continent of Africa and other places, starvation is a major cause of death. This should not be.
Funny thing is that while this is a problem indeed, it is only an indicator of a much larger problem of society. Or a symptom of an even greater disease.
To solve a problem first we accept that a problem exists, in this case the disparity undeniably exists.
Next we identify possible solutions or alternatives, then we weigh those opportunities or solutions to determine which will work best at solving the problem.
In this case, a great solution would be The New World Order, or "unified world Government", which would insure the well being of all earth's residents.
There may also be an exercise of experiment to see which solution best addresses the problem until finally, after all relevant speculation the problem and the new solution may be analyzed to judge it's effectiveness.

Thinking Activley
An important stimulus in my life which persuades me to think actively is the life work of Stephen Hawking dealing with theoretical physics. This particular field of science focuses on explaining through one empirical formula, the exact nature of our entire universe. I find this undertaking to be awesome and admirable due to the astronomical amount of math involved. I also enjoy benefiting from the peace of mind that it affords us when it comes to questions about our surroundings.
In contrast, when I am more inclined to give my mind a rest and think passively, then I can go for some neutral classical music by Bach, Beethoven, or Mozart, These artists combine emotion with sound to ease and relax the listener in most cases.

Active vs. Passive Thinking
The most important influence upon my personal judgment is the United States Supreme Court.
It attempts to guide mankind towards a more advanced way of living by perpetually decoding profound messages from within the US Constitution.
Without the Supreme Court of the United States, the world as we know it today would not exist.
These nine Justices think actively, so that we can think passively.
Perhaps no other body of thinkers is more influential on mankind than the US Supreme Court.

Problem solving...
A recent problem I encountered was that someone decided to steal my charging phone at work.
everyone quickly became a suspect who was scheduled to work between the hours just before the phone went missing until 24 hours thereafter.
I was not getting answers quickly enough so I alerted the authorities.
Then everyone began helping me search.
Long story short, the phone was not found.
The search continues for the phone but I solved the problem of indifference and lack of cooperation with a simple phone call...from a landline!

Analysing Issues (European spelling of "Analyse")
The subject of this blog is analyzing issues.
The Issue I wish to highlight regerdless of relevance is whether or not the economy is in trouble or if these recent economic developments are inherent to the economy itself and will be resolved through the natural course of commerce.
I am of the latter opinion in that I believe that only a fool believes that the stock market will experience steady and constant growth given the current financial parameters.
Which is why a new "Financial Buffer" must be applied and built into the market, requiring Government concern, regulation and oversight.
Similar to the 700 billion dollar bailout plan, But I would have already had the "bailout" money in place as a parachute fund.
Basically, I'm saying that the economy is an issue or is not an issue depending on ones vantage point.
